All I want for Christmas is a Nintendo 64.
Today we’re dialing the time machine to December 6th, 1997. We were still mourning the loss of Princess Diana, but getting a Nintendo 64 for Christmas would ease the pain.

This photo is so 1997 it hurts
December 6th, 1997 fell on a Saturday, meaning the malls were packed with people shopping for Christmas gifts. The gift on the top of everybody’s list? A Nintendo 64. The three top-selling N64 games of all time were sitting on the shelf, and kids were BEGGING dad to buy them (mom had already said no).
Super Mario 64 - 11,910,000 games sold
Mario Kart 64 - 9,870,000 games sold
GoldenEye 007 - 8,090,000 games sold
