I try to keep On This Day rated PG, but “Tampongate” was by far the biggest event of January 17th, 1993. Long story short, an NSFW phone conversation between Prince Charles and Camilla Parker Bowles from 1989 was leaked to the press. This scandal was so big that it got its own episode during season five of “The Crown” on Netflix.
Thankfully, we had morals over here in the U.S. In just a few short days, Bill Clinton was going to be inaugurated as the 42nd President of the United States. No room for sex scandals in the White House!
