We’re changing it up today. Instead of looking at a specific event that happened today (I’ll be honest, not much happened on March 16th, 2001), we’re going to take a nostalgic Spring Break road trip. Kids, we’re going to Disney World!
Tensions were still high following the 9/11 attacks a few months prior. So instead of flying, the family was packing into the 2001 Dodge Caravan and heading south to Orlando. The trip was long, but fear not, we had the 2001 road trip essentials to help us get to Magic Kingdom without killing each other:

Road trip snacks The cooler was packed with Doritos, Code Red, Scooby-Doo Fruit Snacks, Kudos Bars, and more. |  |

Books Plenty of time to finish all eight books of The Babysitters Club. |  |
Game Boy Color If you weren’t playing Pokemon Gold, what were you playing? |  |
Poo Chi Pets This was the current Happy Meal toy, and there were PLENTY of stops at McDonalds along the way. |  |
By the time we reached Chattanooga, I was ready to leave my little brother at the gas station…
